The speed limit along a small section of the Great Ocean Road has finally been cut down to 80km/h after a decade long battle.
Animal activist’s the Otway Wildlife Group have been pushing for the limit to be reduced due to the amount of wildlife that is killed along the stretch of road at Marengo.
More than 30 animals including koalas and joeys have been killed along the 8km stretch since January 2019.
Regional Roads Victoria confirmed the reduction between Elliott Road and Cemetery Road with new signs installed on Thursday.
